Judging by eBay prices, 8" drives and anything made by Shugart must be made of
gold-plated cocaine. The Tandon drives look like they ought to be good... after all,
they're nice, sexy half-height drives, and later ones have direct drive spindles. But
then you try to clean the heads or put out the regulator/capacitor fire, and your opinion
changes. :)
