In fact if it weren't for a terminal company,
Intel wouldn't have designed
the 8008 microprocessor, the grandfather of the x86!
Interesting. I thought it started with the 4004,
which was created as the
engine of a desktop calculator.
It did.. But being a cross between tongue-in-cheek and pedantic,
the lineage could be considered to be :
4004/4040 -> 8008 -> 8080 -> 8086.
Taking it like that, the 8008 is the grandfather of the 8086, the
4004 is the great-grandfather.
