Outside of DOS 7.x is there any other solution available?
A solution that won't cause similar problems? I doubt it, but before
FAT32, there were some utilities that faked a large sector size to get
beyond the maximum cluster size and sector number problems when using 512
byte sectors. I probably still have one or two of these packages. But
IIRC, the problems with these and old code were worse than with FAT32.
