I love all space based shows and films. Who remembers
'The Last Starfighter'
and 'Above and Beyond'. What I hate is the 'on planet' parts. Every
planet
in the universe just cannot look like somewhere on Earth.
I like the original Trek, but I am first and always a fan of the original
Mission: Impossible (and to a lesser extent the 1988 revival). Barney
Collier should have some fans in this group.
Of new shows, the only ones I particularly care for are Burn Notice and NCIS,
but only NCIS is particularly geeky (McGee and Abby), and it's definitely
in no way realistic. But I love the characters.
