As it turns out, the cables I was describing were ones I did a few
months before that discussion.
I got two boards from John, they are GREAT. Much more
solid than having
flying ribbon cable leads off the back of a 25 pin connector.
No question that John's boards are definitely better engineered than
my hacked cables. For that matter, I have given some thought to
replacing the hacks with his boards (or a 9-pin version).
