Do current Macs still have PCI slots?
That toob they just came out with? Not a chance.
Would the code from your project
work on an ancient G4 with backlevel OSX (that's the only Mac I have
with PCI)?
Yes. That's what I run it on, actually. I have a G4 (is that ancient?
I guess it is now) that I run it with. It's one of those perfect
bridge machines... can speak AFP to the really old Macs, can speak to my
newest Mac, running 10.6 or so. In the spirit of consolidation, that's
why I chose it as the host for my Catweasel work over Linux.
Eventually, Apple will likely take USB away from us as well... same as
they took the floppy, the CD, Firewire (400),... pretty soon we'll have
to make our flux readers with Thunderbolt 2 (or 3 or...) interfaces. :-P
