newsgroup, I had a quick look and there appears to be plenty of hits
for UFS:

That first one is a course that specifically mentions Cylinder Groups,
so if you can find the presenter (via LinkedIn or Usenet) you might be
able to get the original course notes, or just ask in that newsgroup.
