Hi
My problem with solder wicks is that if it is working well,
it pulls all the solder up the wick, including any that was
on the iron and I no longer have good heat conduction.
This tends to leave the wick attached to the board and
I often end up lifting traces.
I haven't lifted any traces with my sucker in many years.
( not to say I never did, just not for quite some time ).
