Hi,
has someone on this list ever tried to connect a WizNet module like the
following to a UNIX system without any network stack and use it?

I have an old SYSIII Z8000 System which has zero clue about "network" and
I wonder if this could be changed by such a module. At least a kernel
and a libnet which utilizes this driver have to be written which would be
quite some work to get a "compatible" libnet at the end of the day.
I guess at least "ping" would be doable then. For ftp, telnet and so on
much more kernel work would have to be done I guess... Pseudo-Terminal
support at least... plenty of work :(
