Other than ESD which has already been mentioned, if the device relies on any rubber
components
(like capstan rollers) the dry heat might cause them to dry rot. Same for grommets.
However, the
USAF seals up its old planes and stores the in "the boneyard" at Davis-Montahn
AFB in Tucson, AZ,
so it can't be all bad.
