Thinking about it, I haven't tried a low-level dump of the Maxstor yet.
That would be a bit of a hassle to set up for.
Hmm, I think that's a worthwhile route to investigate - either get the
drive into a more modern system, or boot via floppy and either serial-link
data blocks across or run something to scan for anything that might be a
teledisk signature. None of which are trivial, of course...
