Now, I realy doubt that. For one there have been way
more
Lisa 1s than Apple 1s been made, while the offer was similar.
In contrast, who payed 700 bucks in 1976 for an A1, was more
than happy to accept the trade in offer for a way more powerfull
computer. So if about 5% of all Apple 1s have survived, it'll
save to assume the same number for Lisa 1s ... so than 100 must
exist...
Remember that Sellam said 'known to exist'. Yes there could be more in the
backs of storerooms and warehouses and I'd like to think that's exactly
where mine's going to come from :) I know where there's a Lisa 2/10 in a
loft with ivy growing all over it, and given the nature of the owner it
wouldn't surprise me if he had a 1 as well.
Also, out of the 70,000 or so Lisa 1s that were sold most of them would've
been upgraded to a Lisa 2 during Apple's free upgrade period, and %deity%
knows how many were tossed over time.
I'm one of the million nutters who wants one and has done since
1983.....it's my ultimate machine, though truth be told I'd probably be even
more scared to turn it on than I am my Lisa 2 :)
cheers
