What I was looking for was something really small to lug around when I have to stick
something on a serial port in the back of a rack.
I haven't been following this thread too closely, but couldn't you use an HP
palmtop (HPLX 200 or HPLX 95)? IIRC, Tony does that with an LX95. Screen is smaller than
7", but they are definitely something "really small" and easy to carry.
Also, no need for external power, as they use 2 AA batteries.
