three of those disks - or at
least three disks that are very similar. My disks are 1 GB unformated
and have an E-SMD interface. They run very well on a PDP-11 or MicroVAX
with somthing like a Emulex QD32 / QD33. My disks used to hang off a
Sun 3 and later a Sequent Symetry in a former, academical live. I have
a full serive manual for my disks, including schematics. I don't have
the manual at hand and can't move the disk out of the rack. So I can't
tell if my disks are indeed identical to your friends disk.
I own a Cipher F880 that looks almost like the one on your pictures. It
sits in a DEC rack right above one of the NEC disks...
