Hello, all,
But, that is not a likely long term solution. Is
there a Q-bus MSCP
disk controller that takes something like SD cards? I think I have seen
some projects like that. Anybody know?

and a new one in development:

(you can follow it on Vintage Computer Forum)
I have 2 ESDI drives with VMS on them (last time they
were used) and I
also have a tape container file of a VMS BACKUP tape of my system from
about 1993. What would be great is a procedure to get the whole
bootable file system off that BACKUP file or the extracted files from
that. All of these files are now on a Linux system.
I think your drives are shot. If they click forever, and give errors,
fun ahead :(
Where are you located?
Cheers
