Is this email still active? I found an old old (2016) post about various vintage computers for sale. I found it specifically looking for a Poly88 - my "white whale". While I'm sure that one got sold, if you're still active, and you have any leads on a Poly88, please let me know! Thanks, Andrew Pullin

Zapsystems zapstar

by Adrian Stoness

i came across an interesting hord in northern manitoba. still going through it and came across a box with some weird cards didnt think much brought home and discovered they were the cpu boards for something called the zapstar made by zapsystem witch i was able to get Jose Laraya the designer of the system to confirm these were part of it then he suddenly passed at the end of august. he also worked on the mcm70 http://www.cse.yorku.ca/~zbigniew/mcm_add.html the boards i have and close up https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/687x914q90/921/BzjyY8.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/856x644q70/921/hXeG82.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/1214x914q90/924/NiRn53.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/688x914q90/921/gJBVGi.jpg what the zapstar looked like http://www.cse.yorku.ca/~zbigniew/picts/Zapsystems.jpg it had a colour monitor from what ive found out

PD-11/23+ card cage?

by Peter Ekstrom

Hi everyone, I may have asked this before, I can't remember... I have a PDP-11/23+ pieced together on an H9276 backplane, sitting on the floor. I have rigged some fans to keep it cool, but I would love to have either a complete BA11-S box, or the H9276-B cardcage for it. The cardcage doesn't have to have the backplane since I already have one. Does anyone have either of these that they'd be willing to part with? I am located in the US. - Peter

Re: computer for sale

by Marvin Johnston

As far as the Poly 88 is concerned, I probably have at least 3 in various states "buried" someplace. I sold the most complete one some number of years ago. Along a similar vein, I probably have the worlds largest collection of remaining original Poly docs (a three drawer file cabinet) all organized by part number I obtained after Poly closed their doors. Note again, they are organized by part number rather than description. If anyone needs copies of the docs, let me know the part number, and I can check to see if I have them. Additionally, I have a bunch (100?) of partly build S100 cards. I took some of them to VCFMW a number of years ago, but there was little interest in them. Re: VT510

by Aaron Woolfson

Hey, just an FYI, Devin D. <damicomainframe(a)gmail.com> has spoken for this, and I'll be sending to him in Florida. > I have a working VT510 if anyone would like it, I'd like to give it to a > good home. VT510

by Aaron Woolfson

I have a working VT510 if anyone would like it, I'd like to give it to a good home. This is the one that uses a PS2 style connector for a standard AT keyboard to be plugged into, and operates with RS232. I've just used it as a console on a fun project the last few years on and off. Just send me your address, and it's yours , you don't even need to pay for shipping , as long as it is continental united states. Aaron

VT100 firmware with Space Invaders in AVO ROM

by Richard

[Please reply to cctalk only] Hello fellow simulator enthusiasts! As a surprise reveal for the end of my "VT100 Deep Dive" talk at VCFMW last weekend, I showed a Space Invaders clone running in the AVO expansion ROM of the VT100 via MAME. Did you know that there's a vt100/vt102 emulator in MAME? It's marked as "not working" and isn't very well documented, but it does in fact work pretty well. In addition to the firmware hack, I've documented how to do various things with the MAME vt100 emulator (see docs/mame.md): - Play back a VT100 animation - Connect to a physical serial port - Connect to a network connection (SIMH console?) Everything is on github in a fork of Paul Williams annotated VT100 firmware assembly listing. <https://github.com/LegalizeAdulthood/vt100-firmware> Please note that if you wish to try this with real ROMs on real hardware that some special considerations will need to be taken. See the documentation for that. -- "The Direct3D Graphics Pipeline" free book <http://tinyurl.com/d3d-pipeline> The Terminals Wiki <http://terminals-wiki.org> The Computer Graphics Museum <http://ComputerGraphicsMuseum.org> Legalize Adulthood! Pristine Archival Find: 1999 Compaq AlphaServer DS10L Virgin "DEC INTERNAL" Factory Boot Image (OpenVMS V7.2)

by Jeffrey S. Worley

I took a chance and bought an Alphastation DS10L recently sold as untested. (1U model). On receipt it boots a virgin VMS 7.2b with everything under the sun installed and licensed to 'dec internal'. If I enter a date later than 2002 or so, the installed software explodes with license expiration. The list of installed features takes forever to list at 9600baud..... I searched the drive for boot logs etc and all are blank. The drive reports zero gigs read and the entire machine is utterly pristine within, dustless. The seller did not install vms on this drive. I checked the date-codes on both drive and machine; they are contempories. I'm very confident that this drive shipped with the machine, and it bears no sign of use. I imaged the drive (for fun with my PA7300lc), so I have a secured copy of the drive with the only difference that it has been booted once or twice, and on the last I changed the SYSTEM password to "slateev6". Is this installation of interest? There's a paper tag on the machine which still reads "TP 14" in ballpoint. Is this possibly an internal machine? There are no asset tags on it. best, jeff (Technoid Mutant)
