How are small wire sizes specified in Europe? I have seen that EN 60228
defines wire cross sections down to 0.5mm2. What about smaller than that?
Does the standard go smaller? Stranded wire must consist of smaller solid
strands.

mm2 seems to be the rule for large wires, and mm (diameter) for smaller
ones.

Yes. But the diameter is always meant w/o the isolation.

From the US, the UK is (probably), in Europe ?
Beyond simply using US wire / sizes, and ignoring the definition of wire/cable, the main
