The FORTRAN II compiler on cards or tape is the same code. The first
phase works out whether it's loaded from cards or tape. I have the
source for it. I got two operational tapes and reverse engineered them.
Then Gary Mokotoff discovered he hadn't lost his listings when he
retired, and sent me a photocopy. I transcribed it . My code has far
more comments than his. A few of the the tape blocks were too big to
fit through the TAU emulator at CHM so I completely revised its phase
loader, and split a few blocks. The code is

of clutter at that level so look under Mokotoff for Gary's code, v3m0
and v3m4 for the version reverse engineered from operational tapes, and
v4 for the code revised to fit through the CHM TAU emulator.

I got an installation deck from Dick Weaver. He also lent me the CE
manual, which contained a listing. I transcribed it and assembled it
with my cross assembler

same core images for the phases. A few of the cards were a tiny bit
different because my strategy to generate the set-word-mark
instructions in 48-71 for DA was a bit different from the original.
Dick also sent a tape with IOCS and macros of his own, for example to
