It may seem as I shrug off responsibility for the future, but to be frank, I think humans are still not having discussion about AI that should be had some 20-25 years ago [1]. Nowadays it is more like riding a truck on the ice and we have started to slide (I mean we humans). Maybe there is something to be done about it, or maybe one can just brace oneself and count on one's luck. What could certainly have been done, it was slowing down long ago. Well, all right, it was something that could almost certainly not happen, because rivarly, never, ever. I suspect this is why we are not going to slow down today, so this is it. SHTF, probably one day in our life (which, given we have members of advanced age, is not very long from now, eh). It "always" have puzzled me, that people to whom I had access (nobody really powerfull, only some buddies who might have been more clever than me) did not recognized this incoming future as something worthy a talk. It was actually very same thing with climate change. So, right now, the most rational posture I can come up with is to be curious. [1] What would such discussion look like? I have no idea but I hope I would recognize one when I see one. With caveat that we are rather late to such talking (20-25, remember?). I assume AI is here to stay, no matter if it is real or only marketing invention. It is also going to be developed in more and more advanced shape and with more unwanted########questionable side effects and uses.
