So, we have unwittingly conflated two threads.
I'm sure that Tony would like to add full function floppy capability to
his modern machine. That may be more difficult, but simply writing 3.5"
disk, with no other capabilities is trivial and cheap. For full function,
he needs to put together a more elaborate device.
For Jim Brain's Coco disk, my inclination would be to image it on an ISA
machine using the WD controller. but, an argument was made that a flux
transition read might be a way to cut down on the number of reads.
