What is this?

I might acutally be IBM made. The "1P1288" part number fits the numbering scheme they used. I've seen one of these before, but I don't remember where, or what it was for...


I'm curious as to what it actually is myself now though...

Don't think it is IBM.  Apparently high temp ICs due to the heat sink 
housing. No idea what it is.
