DEC H742a vs. h7420a power supplies

I may have mentioned here that I have a PDP 11/40 with a DEC H742a and
another with a h7420a power supply.   The boards and configurations differ,
but they seem to be functionally alike.  Anyone have a second opinion?  I
have been treating them as if they are interchangeable.
