This should be usable on modern systems using “VueScan”.  For those of us that have old scanners, “VueScan” is the greatest piece of software ever.  For a one time purchase, you get free updates, and it supports pretty much all scanners, with the exception of highly specialized ones such as my Kodak Pakon F135+ (originally used in Kodak Kiosks).
