Hi all, I am completely ignorant when it comes to VMS licensing and how it works (or
worked).
I purchased a MicroVAX that is running VMS V5.3. Do I need to worry about it ceasing to
work at some point?
I don’t have any paperwork for the license, just a running machine.
What should I know about this?

The only legal[0] workaround for VMS on VAX is to go

It's no more legal than running VMS V6.1 without a valid PAK (that was legally
transferred to you).
The only difference is that you didn't have to subvert the LMF.
Sad and mildly irritating, but nothing we can do about
it.
This bit is true.
