Was 2000 called “Longhorn” internally? If so, the source code for it escaped out onto the
internet. You can still find it out there.
No.
The planned successor to "Whistler" (NT 5.1, sold as WinXP) was
"Blackcomb", the planned NT 6.
After over-running several years, MS started planning an intermediary
release, based on the Windows 2003 Server kernel, codenamed
"Longhorn".
In the end "Longhorn" became Windows Vista and "Blackcomb" was
cancelled and never became a product.
