Those landfill-grade bulbs from AliExpress will probably do the job just
fine. Make sure you don't pay more than a couple of bucks since otherwise
they might have spent an extra couple of cents on the necessary smoothing
capacitors.
I have one rattling about which gives a nice 50Hz flicker, and its main job
is to remind me why I don't miss CRTs whenever I get a nostalgia fix and
consider acquiring one. It was something like €1.86, and almost certainly
exactly $2 at the prevailing exchange rate.
