Apple, TRS-80 and IEE488. I believe they got a 50% of market share for
printers with this, from a standing start.
I vaguely recall that the MX-80 came with the parallel interface as the
default; serial EIA was an option. I rigged something up using a 9V
battery and some random logic added to the printer to get serial to work
without buying the option.
