The traditional stuff pre-Montreal Accords was usually Freon TF or
similar chloroflourocarbon with perhaps some isopropanol mixed in. At
least that's what my big bottle of Xerox floppy cleaning liquid claims.
I suspect that some type of ether may also be suitable. I've largely
taken to cleaning tape heads with heptane--doesn't seem to bother
plastics any.
