[cctalk] Requesting advice on my restoration

I want to prep the outer shell of my new tandy model 102 for paint and wish to remove the beautiful metal badgee from its recessed holder. I considered using a heat gun but fear it may effect the plastic casing around the badge. Last thing I want to do is damage the badge. Any clues?
