I have the same concern - to the extent that I don't even visit my
in-laws in the US, but meet them here in Europe instead. One of the
professional organisations I am involved in had to move their strategic
planning workshop to Europe as too many of us refused to travel to the
US. I keep hearing other organisations are doing the same.

I don't want to derail the discussion into a political one, but as a US
citizen, I do appreciate your principled stance and please accept my
apologies that you need to make these difficult decisions.
Every geography where people want to live no doubt grapples with how to
manage the various ways people arrive at a geography, but I feel our
current approach falls significantly short. As such, your approach would
be my recommendation for anyone considering travel to the US at present.
Outside of this concern, there are a number of reasons why someone might
not be able to physically attend a show (illness, finances, limited
mobility, etc.), and I also think it's important to memorialize the
knowledge transfer that occurs at such an event. I know Tandy Assembly
presentations are recorded, they may be streamed as well. I hope that
helps at least a little bit. Obviously there is something special about
the "touch" of physical presence, but hopefully we can share more and
more of these events with those who could not attend in person.
