Since the original thread was about DEC things, that Fortran II manual
could well be this:
I.e., Fortran II (Roman "two") for the PDP-9.
That machine was apparently announced in 1966 and superseded by the
PDP-15 in 1970; thus, not unreasonable that it would be DEC's
adaptation of FORTRAN II (of 1958) to their hardware.
