[cctalk] Re: Ad-blocking (was Re: Open source a panacea?)

I forget how bad things are without any adblockers, such as almost the entire first page of google results are paid/spam results vs the actual search. I don't see that with the filters I have on so I get to naively sift through the more and more incorrect opinions to my question, but at least I can keep ads and false results to a minimum. I've been using noscript for such a long time but honestly it just breaks every website and I have to play whack-a-mole with 30 different URLs to get things to work right, but I still use it with ublock origin and have a mostly good experience.
