I once had an Olivetti M20 shipped internationally from Italy. The shipping
cost me as much as the computer, but the seller managed to cram the
computer, monitor, keyboard, printer, and manuals all into one tightly
packed box, and it actually arrived 100% intact and functional. But for
every success story there are horror stories of the shipping companies
destroying vintage gear.

Just an
observation: "too big to ship" is an opinion. You may well be
right, but it's also possible that a buyer might come along who has a
different view and is willing to pay for shipping at a cost that you
thought was too high.
A sale just requires a willing seller and a willing buyer, able to
agree on a price acceptable to both.

I agree having been that "guy" who has paid for shipping but again it
wasn't for a 386-25. I guess if someone really wants it they will pay for
shipping.
