Hello Jochan, I’m really sorry to hear that you’re having to part with your collection because of health issues. I truly hope you’re doing better or will be soon. That said, your decision to give away parts of your collection gives me a rare opportunity to get my hands on a few computers I’ve always dreamed of owning. Unfortunately, I live in Poland, and finding old non-PC computer equipment here is usually close to impossible—we mostly started computerizing in the 1990s with cheap East Asian PC hardware. Because of that, if you’d be willing to give some of the machines to me, I’d honestly be happy to drive all the way from Poland to your place and back. I’m an electronics engineer (still a student), and I’m especially interested in older systems like your PDP-11/34 with its Tektronix 4010 graphic terminal. I really enjoy working with machines where you’re close to the bare metal when fixing and using them—that’s what fascinates me the most. I could also take some newer systems, like a VAXstation or something from Sun, and donate them to the Museum of Engineering here in Kraków. Some friends of mine there are starting to organize a new computer history exhibition beginning next summer. PS: What’s the best way to contact you?
