That reminded me of the Lawrence University PDP-11/20 (running RSTS V4A under very high
loads). It tended to crash roughly every 24 hours. DEC tinkered with it for months, and
finally solved the problem by replacing it with an 11/45 running RSTS/E.
Decades later I was told by one of the "Experts from Maynard" that they did
figure out the cause: it was the FM transmitter (3 kW) just down the hall. But at the
time, as far as I know, no one said so.
