I do have a pile of TI-Expore Bricks. The disc drives do have issues like:
- not spinning up
- spinning up but not recalibrating
What I’ve seen on multiple XT1140 and 2190 units is the enamel (?) coating on the
permanent magnets in the voice coil positioner cracks with age, allowing moisture ingress,
and the magnets rust. This causes the positioner to bind.
I can’t advise you on “reviving”
