I might consider a trade, but to be perfectly frank, I don't think you'd
like it.
At 6250, the tape speed is slow, slow slow and really isn't fast enough
to generate a reliable signal in the read head. You need an
almnost-perfect tape for it to work.
At least that's my experience. I use the drive mostly for spot checks
on tapes,rather than for archiving. The SCSI controller has a 256KB
buffer and will shoeshine things to death if it can't get a solid read.
I recommend a good drive; an M4, Cipher, HP, Fujitsu, CDC etc. The
Qualstar is too much of a dog walking on its hind legs, if you catch my
drift.
