But it took the S-100 and other CP/M computers to educate the public
of what home computer was. The other computers where more GAME focused
machines.
I loved the APPLE II idea of split screen with hi-res graphics on the
top, and text on the bottom.
The 1980’s
saw the Dells, HPs and many others with MS-DOS & IBM PC-DOS from QDOS.
But, it
behooves us to explicitly mention August 11, 1981 with the
release of the 5150 "PC".
That I can live with. It is the horror of chip, the 8086 that I can't
live with
and marketing that went with it. Convert 8080 code to 8088 code.
