For awhile I would simply run PROGMAN.EXE on Windows NT, it would bring
up the traditional window interface. Eventually I got used to the
Windows 95/98 model.

Pretty close. I customised it heavily with shortcuts for all my apps
and things and I missed that. NT 4's 95-a-like Explorer was slower.
But it did so much more and needed so much less customisation to be
usable.
