I think that is the project that Al refers to in a posting Friday:

"There is also the German RL02 drive emulator, which seems to have 
stalled again"

It sounded like the fellow did a lot of good research, but I didn't see 
a completed
state of the project.  And he had questions about the electronics that I 
didn't see
clear answers posted to.
