VMS Notify SimH beeping

Yes. simh isn't the one doing the beeping.

VMS is outputting the BEL character, and your terminal program reacts to 
that, just as it reacts to CR, LF or BS. Just that BEL causes your 
terminal program to emit a sound.

Change the config in your terminal program, if possible.
