My understanding is that 4.3BSD that ran on VAXes had support for NCP. 
My naive assumption is that there is enough of it still around that it 
may be possible to bring up an NCP connection between multiple systems.

Perhaps that's a /mis/understanding on my part.  I'd love to learn 
supporting information either way.
