That's pretty simple. A "Hello world" program will probably show it.

3 FORMAT(1X, 'YOU SAID ', 20A1)

Create "TEST.FT" with that content, then "EXEC TEST.FT" at the OS/8 dot
prompt.
If you can successfully enter a string and get a result, then you're
probably not having interrupt issues.
