Allow me to repeat that this happens exclusively with DEC brand tapes. All five of them report „read only“ while all other brands (HP, Sony, Maxell, you name it) work. I’ve already erased around 100 DDS1 tapes.

I can’t see differences in the cartridges’ write protection locks, so the WP-switch is pushed the same all the time.
