ZIP-ing the data up helps.

Start it up, go to bed.  If you use a parallel LL cable (I've got a 
carton full of them, if anyone needs one), it goes much faster.

Or use a ZIP drive, if you've got one; if you've got a CD burner, do it 
that way.

You get the idea.  Skinning cats and such... :)
