I've seen it done in numerous DEC options. I usually doesn't hurt anything.
Some I check  for them, but it depends on what I know about the history of
the gear.

If you don't work on PDP11s every day it would be easy to overlook.

The easiest one to find is the fault light flashes on RL drives.
