There seems to be quite a few options for a boot disk for a K4+88 here:
http://www.retroarchive.org/maslin/disks/kpro/
The unit has a 81-232 ROM.
Gene (again, thanks), sent some disks, but the 81-232 one did not work.
I created a disk from one of the images on the site, and the unit boots
(yay!), but not sure if I am using the best image for the unit.
Any particular image I should use?
Also, any links to the '88 stuff for this unit?

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical
minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which
holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd
by the clean end.

Wow, that was quick! Looks like it averaged about 7Mbps with peaks of
double that from watching the Task Manager graph. I don't recall ever
seeing a site respond like that unless it was one of the speed test things.

In God We Trust!!!
After fighting with sheet fed scanners and software (I lost both fights),
I've finally been able to start processing the huge volume of Heathkit
documentation (goodies!) that I've been given.
I've started with a 31 issue set of The Staunch 8/89'er. Issue #1 is now
available at
http://www.retroarchive.org/machines/heath/staunch/Issue1-1.htm.
These take about 2 to 3 hours to process each, so it'll be a while before
I've got all 31 issues online.
I'll let you folks know as more of them hit the scanner.

(many thanks to the gentleman that sent me all of this neat stuff.)
I'm having difficulty trying to locate this CP/M files, XLT80.COM and
XLT80.ASM , this is a Z80/8080 translator.
I found the file listed on this archive index
http://ftp.gaby.de/pub/cpm/znode51/fog/
I did a site search for this without any luck on
www.bitsavers.org/bits/Users_Groups/FOG/
It seems most of the files on there are disk images only.
Also did a site search for this without any luck on this Walnut Creek
archive http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/cdrom/
Would somebody know of more archives that have original files instead of
disk images ?
thanks !

I finally got an 8-inch floppy drive connected to a PC and now I want
to create an 8-inch boot floppy from a Teledisk image I found, but
tdcheck says it's an 82 track 3.5-inch floppy image. That's seems
odd.
http://www.retroarchive.org/cpm/os/ALTOS.ZIP
Anyone know for sure if I should be able to use Teledisk to write this
image directly to an 8-inch floppy? Or would I need to do something
like write the image to a 3.5 inch floppy and then use ImageDisk to
read that floppy and write it to the 8-inch floppy?

Cool. Next question: is there any software for MSDOS or Linux (preferably
that I don't need to pay for) that will read/write CP/M-86 (1) hard disk
partitions or (2) 1.44M floppies. I've noticed 22DSK doesn't support much
more than 5-1/4" floppies.

Rich, come up on www.retroarchive.org/cpm/cdrom/SINTEL/CPMUG and you
should be able to find your desired file.

You want copy disk and format and they can be found in the Compupro
areas of archives.
Look here on the left side for compupro.. If memeory is correct that ZIP
file has what your looking for.

I've got the first files online here:
http://www.retroarchive.org/maslin
So far it's only the Kaypro disk images.
I'd like it if one of you that knew Don could write up a small blurb I
could use as an introduction to the archive.
I'll be getting the rest of it online as I have time.
Thanks folks.
