I used "internal" in a somewhat loose sense. I think of it as internal 
if it was intended to be in the same cabinet. Thus, a short distance 
between the CPU and the drive, and the cabling do not go outside that 
cabinet.

Now, you could have a cab kit even under those circumstances. I think 
mostly of "internal" as when the whole package was delivered that way 
from DEC.
