I got nowhere a year ago trying to get 9914 schematics from them, which
I desperately need to try to figure out the modifications that John Bordynuik
made to the motor control board when he modified a drive to support a MR head
stack.

The thickness isn't particularly critical. It may be more so on 800 bpi tapes
but 1600 and 6250 will self-clock. The 9914 is very touchy about sticky tapes
though since the tape tension system doesn't have much mechanical play once a tape
starts to bind.
