I'll have to give Wine a try.  I don't know how long I'll be able to use the
Windows 7 VM without a license key.

After posting I found the Exec System Software Operations Manual:

which has some introductory information on console keyins, etc.  I think
it'll help me get familiar with some of the OS basics, command parameter
formats, etc.  I was an IBM operator for a couple of decades, so learning
console commands is right up my alley.
